Me taking a day off to volunteer at the Riverwest 24 bike race in Milwaukee. A Chicago native, I currently reside in the Puget Sound area, working as a history specialist at a public library. What that actually means is that I help people do house history and genealogy work most of the time, but also do a lot behind the scenes with the archival collections, digitization and access, and book selection. From time to time I also help man the main library reference desk. My background is in archives and museum work, as well as library management.

When I’m not aggravating my mold and mildew allergies at work, I spend a lot of time playing ice hockey, hiking, camping, taking photos, inventing recipes on a budget, and (you guessed it) reading.

I maintain a few different tumblrs, but the ones I put the most time into are Tattooed Librarians and Archivists and Born Analog. There are also Twitter feeds that go along with those.
