I am Johnnie Romon Blunt, a Reference and Instructional Services Librarian at Oakland University in beautiful Rochester, Michigan. I consider myself part librarian, part instructor and part entertainer. I teach information literacy and bibliographic instruction to 18-19 year old students. Often I have to know how to liven up a “cold room”.
I love the challenge of teaching students how to do research that is much more than stitching together quotes, summaries, and paraphrases. I like showing students that they can converse with their sources and to use their observations to challenge, complicate, or confirm their sources.
